Negotiating a Brief

Negiotated:
When a brief is spoken about and can be talked about and it also can be changed very much so much that this issue can be changed, this is why this brief is good because things can be changed if they are needed to be.

Joint Session - Drama Academy/Media

 JOINT SESSION:

this session we had a joint session with the drama academy - this session went really well because we had a great idea of what we were filming and how we were filming. We got a good idea about the play and what it was about, we had a good idea about what they were going to be performing - we also had a good idea about the shots and what we had to do for it.

Example Of A Brief

This media brief is about a competition that is happening - they have set out a good deal of ideas to be involved in. This means that they can compete together to make the prize, the idea of it is good because then it can become a bigger idea, they have completed this brief in a different way to present this and they have chosen the Young Vic Graphic Design Competition, it involves them making a graphic design of the brief and working as a team to do it. this explanation is good because it gives you all the good ideas about the brief and how it works - the team to do it is good, it opens soon and applications are open for the people who want to get involved. The winners are given a £200 pound prize. This is for how they are open for the people and what they want for the winners to get and how the idea can be made. The Young Vic are giving out different designs and different clues to what they are given.

About Oh My Sweet Land
They call it a civil war, but there is nothing civil in this. Nothing civil at all.

They came from Damascus, from Halab, from Banias where the bombs fall day and night and the wounded children look like sleeping angels. Now they live in camps and abandoned buildings in Lebanon or Jordan. Now Syria is just a distant memory, a home forever lost.
This urgent and extraordinary show explores the crisis in Syria through the stories of its two million refugees. German-Syrian actor Corinne Jaber was last in London with her production of The Comedy of Errors for Shakespeare’s Globe’s World Shakespeare Festival. She has performed with the RSC, in Peter Brook’s Mahabharata and has won France’s prestigious Molière Prize.
Amir Nizar Zuabi (The Beloved, I Am Yusuf and This Is My Brother), founder of Haifa-based theatre company ShiberHur, returns to the Young Vic with this UK premiere.

Working to a brief/types of a brief

Working to a brief:
when working to a brief you have to make sure you follow all the instructions that have been given in the brief. You will be asked to create something in the task and be made to organise as maybe as yourself or as a group. Following the brief is one of the most important things, whilst having the brief there are many different kinds of briefs which involve: contracted, negotiated, formal, informal, commission, competition, tender and co-operative.  These are all important briefs and they all must be followed in this case, in the blogs there must be different ideas on the certain briefs, working to the brief is important because you need to make sure that you are following all the points and that all the targets are being met to the brief.

Contracted:
This is when somebody is completing a project to a certain brief, they have to follow the brief guidelines and must be on point, and they must have the exact details included in the business brief, because otherwise this can cause bad things, and want to avoid this. But this can be changed because it is contracted. This means the brief has to be done to a certain time and can only be used by the people who have made the choice to choose this way the brief can be spoken and talked about and it can also be changed and involved into the production line of the sense and make the rest of the brief sound have had in the little amount of information and little amount of being done in the brief is how work has so well, this is a brief that when things are done very well and in a special way it means that they can then add on to the different subjects that are involved in the contracted brief. The brief can be changed and added on when the different project can be changed to a certain brief. The business brief because otherwise this can cause bad things.

Negotiated:
When a brief is spoken about and can be talked about and it also can be changed very much so much that this issue can be changed, this is why this brief is good because things can be changed if they are needed to be. This is a brief that is quite hard to work with and because of the little amount of information and the little amount of being done in the brief and how the work has been done this means that the brief could change very quickly and not have as a many afterwards, the brief has been made to work like this so they all add in and link well together. The detail that has been given in the brief is that the work they like is easy and very simple and formal. Being simple and formal means that the briefs can be made well and add them all in well together, the detail to this brief has a lot of information, this is concluding the other options that have been added to the detail and how the brief is very lowly detailed and work has be done to the brief and the production in the information special way it means that they can be taken into care and looked after whilst finishing the brief towards and afterwards the brief is a important part of the simple and clever working brief because it can be talked about.

Formal:
This is a brief when things are very simple and formal. The detail in this brief is very lowly detailed and hardly has any information involved in it/only to production. This brief is quite hard to work with because of the little amount of information and little amount being done in the brief and how the work has done. The work done is informal and clever working. Being done this way this means that the brief can link in well together and have a very simple and formal way of detailing something and have a lowly detailed version of the work set in the lesson and how the work has been done in this lesson and the formal things are very simple and formal. This means that the formal idea of the brief can be changed and linked in with the other amount of importance and brief afterwards, whilst finishing the taken parts of the brief afterwards of the finished and completed being simple and information special way it means that they can be taken into care and looked after whilst finishing the brief towards and little any information, the formal and detailed quite hard work this hard work has changed and the different things that are available in the formal ways and detail is very brief and how the rest of the information works and forms, the little amount of being done.

Informal:
This is a brief when things are very simple and formal. The detail in this brief is very lowly detailed and hardly has any information involved in it/only to production. This brief is quite hard to work with because of the little amount of information and little amount being done in the brief and how the work has done. This kind of brief is important because it has to make sense and make the rest of the brief sound appropriate the other sides of the brief. This is also important because the times that we have had in the little amount of information and little amount of being done in the brief is how the work has done well. this is a brief that when things are done very well and in a special way it means that they can be taken into care and looked after whilst finishing the brief afterwards.

Commission:
This kind of brief is when a larger company employs a smaller independent company to complete the project for them and get the work done for them. They then can give the certain percentage of revenue that has come out of the project they have been working through, and how they have been working on it. This is good for the smaller independent company. The interdependent company will have different changes on them and have a smaller dependent company who will make the changes in the work that has been done for them, this is good for the smaller project as they can come together has a bigger group and have a bigger kind of brief and is a open brief. To other companies for them to work on and make progress - they are then judged to a open brief and have whoever has the best they take and make them to the company and they make them work for the company. they can get the percentage of the business and have a great company for the business and understand the company in a much better way to make more of a understanding.

Competition:
This kind of brief is a open brief - to other companies for them to work on and make progress - they then are judged and whoever has the best one they take and make them to the company and they make them work for the company. They can then get the percentage of the business and have a great company for the business and understand the company better. This kind of brief is when a larger company employs a smaller independent company to complete the project for them and get the work done for them. They then can give the certain percentage of revenue that has come out of the project they have been working through, and how they have been working on it.

Co-Operative:
This kind of brief is when two or more companies work together to complete brief from a client, they can be discussing this and how the ideas can be different, and any different conflict between the two different groups can be negotiated and can be talked about and have different support from everybody else. To other companies for them to work on and make progress - they are then judged to a open brief and have whoever has the best they take and make them to the company and they make them work for the company. they can get the percentage of the business and have a great company for the business and understand the company in a much better way to make more of a understanding.

Tender:
This is where a client advertises their brief and multiple companies will pitch a proposal with their ideas for the brief to the client, the client can then pick the company most suited to the brief/offer job to the company because of their good work and how they have done the work well.

Titus Andronicus Script

Romans, make way: the good Andronicus.
Patron of virtue, Rome's best champion,
Successful in the battles that he fights,
With honour and with fortune is return'd
From where he circumscribed with his sword,
And brought to yoke, the enemies of Rome.
Drums and trumpets sounded. Enter MARTIUS and MUTIUS; After them, two Men bearing a coffin covered with black; then LUCIUS and QUINTUS. After them, TITUS ANDRONICUS; and then TAMORA, with ALARBUS, DEMETRIUS, CHIRON, AARON, and other Goths, prisoners; Soldiers and people following. The Bearers set down the coffin, and TITUS speaks
TITUS ANDRONICUS
Hail, Rome, victorious in thy mourning weeds!
Lo, as the bark, that hath discharged her fraught,
Returns with precious jading to the bay
From whence at first she weigh'd her anchorage,
Cometh Andronicus, bound with laurel boughs,
To re-salute his country with his tears,
Tears of true joy for his return to Rome.
Thou great defender of this Capitol,
Stand gracious to the rites that we intend!
Romans, of five and twenty valiant sons,
Half of the number that King Priam had,
Behold the poor remains, alive and dead!
These that survive let Rome reward with love;
These that I bring unto their latest home,
With burial amongst their ancestors:
Here Goths have given me leave to sheathe my sword.
Titus, unkind and careless of thine own,
Why suffer'st thou thy sons, unburied yet,
To hover on the dreadful shore of Styx?
Make way to lay them by their brethren.
The tomb is opened
There greet in silence, as the dead are wont,
And sleep in peace, slain in your country's wars!
O sacred receptacle of my joys,
Sweet cell of virtue and nobility,
How many sons of mine hast thou in store,
That thou wilt never render to me more!
LUCIUS
Give us the proudest prisoner of the Goths,
That we may hew his limbs, and on a pile
Ad manes fratrum sacrifice his flesh,
Before this earthy prison of their bones;
That so the shadows be not unappeased,
Nor we disturb'd with prodigies on earth.
TITUS ANDRONICUS
I give him you, the noblest that survives,
The eldest son of this distressed queen.
TAMORA
Stay, Roman brethren! Gracious conqueror,
Victorious Titus, rue the tears I shed,
A mother's tears in passion for her son:
And if thy sons were ever dear to thee,
O, think my son to be as dear to me!
Sufficeth not that we are brought to Rome,
To beautify thy triumphs and return,
Captive to thee and to thy Roman yoke,
But must my sons be slaughter'd in the streets,
For valiant doings in their country's cause?
O, if to fight for king and commonweal
Were piety in thine, it is in these.
Andronicus, stain not thy tomb with blood:
Wilt thou draw near the nature of the gods?
Draw near them then in being merciful:
Sweet mercy is nobility's true badge:
Thrice noble Titus, spare my first-born son.
TITUS ANDRONICUS
Patient yourself, madam, and pardon me.
These are their brethren, whom you Goths beheld
Alive and dead, and for their brethren slain
Religiously they ask a sacrifice:
To this your son is mark'd, and die he must,
To appease their groaning shadows that are gone.
LUCIUS
Away with him! and make a fire straight;
And with our swords, upon a pile of wood,
Let's hew his limbs till they be clean consumed.
Exeunt LUCIUS, QUINTUS, MARTIUS, and MUTIUS, with ALARBUS
TAMORA
O cruel, irreligious piety!
CHIRON
Was ever Scythia half so barbarous?
DEMETRIUS
Oppose not Scythia to ambitious Rome.
Alarbus goes to rest; and we survive
To tremble under Titus' threatening looks.
Then, madam, stand resolved, but hope withal
The self-same gods that arm'd the Queen of Troy
With opportunity of sharp revenge
Upon the Thracian tyrant in his tent,
May favor Tamora, the Queen of Goths--
When Goths were Goths and Tamora was queen--
To quit the bloody wrongs upon her foes.
Re-enter LUCIUS, QUINTUS, MARTIUS and MUTIUS, with their swords bloody
LUCIUS
See, lord and father, how we have perform'd
Our Roman rites: Alarbus' limbs are lopp'd,
And entrails feed the sacrificing fire,
Whose smoke, like incense, doth perfume the sky.
Remaineth nought, but to inter our brethren,
And with loud 'larums welcome them to Rome.
TITUS ANDRONICUS Let it be so; and let Andronicus
Make this his latest farewell to their souls.
Trumpets sounded, and the coffin laid in the tomb
In peace and honour rest you here, my sons;
Rome's readiest champions, repose you here in rest,
Secure from worldly chances and mishaps!
Here lurks no treason, here no envy swells,
Here grow no damned grudges; here are no storms,
No noise, but silence and eternal sleep:
In peace and honour rest you here, my sons!

Health & Safety / Risk Assesment Titus Adronicus

Health and Safety:

The health and safety is important when we are filming because a lot of things could go quite wrong; this is because health and safety has a lot of different filming ideas and they have things for example if the weather is bad, this would mean that we might not of been able to do some filming - this could mean falling back, this also means if the weather is bad it could cause problems towards the journey and health reasons - it could result in someone getting hurt or getting ill from the weather. This means we have to keep check of the weather and how it is going to be on that day so we know if we can go filming or not.
Another safety reason is the equipment, we have to make sure that the equipment is looked after properly and is made into different filming ideas and how they are and how they have made things safe for everyone on the filming site. If the weather is bad this could result in the quipment getting ruined and having to take the consequences of what it would be if something happened.
Health and safety is the most important thing when it comes to writing a assesment about your film because you have to make sure that everything your writing makes sense and has a reason to be written. Health and safety should be the first thing sorted out when doing the assessment and making sure that the assesment criteria is good and doesn't have to be made changes and make things awkward and have to re-do anything or having to re-shoot everything because of what has happened with the criteria.

Script For Music Video

Music videos are a very important part of the industry of music because they serve a lot of purposes in the industry. They advertise the artists songs to  the market and they show off their new songs. They represent the record company that is linked to the artist and the company that the artist is signed too. It is a good marketing tool for them.
Music videos are mainly used to be viewed online across the whole word – and on TV for the artist’s fans and viewers to screen their new songs on a music video – it brands their song. The record company also gets involved with this. The music videos increase for that the artists are bringing out because more people have viewed it online and watched them being played online. This means that the viewers can understand more about the artist and what the artist music is like and understand what the rest of the album is like and how the album is going to be made and what kind of music is going to be played on the album.
In music videos the artist is normally in it – and they are normally the main focus and have a great amount of close ups and establishing shots to show the audience where they are in the music video and how important they are to the song and have a great deal of choice and involved in the music video just as much as everyone else. They must normally be in the music video because the viewers need to know who the artist is and it is important that they know this because they need to make sure they know the artist and who the singer actually is. Music videos are an excellent way for a musician or singer to make a business. I
ARTISTS APPEARING IN MUSIC VIDEO:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My2FRPA3Gf8 – In this music video of Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball. This is a song that is only focused on her, it has many close ups. This makes her link well with the audience and has a great deal of emotion towards the audience – she can make a connection with the audience with these close ups. You can see her facial expressions with the good camera shots. This helps her promote herself and shows you her kind of music. You can also see that she is making a amazing connection with her music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_v9MY_FMcw In this song Best Song Ever – One Direction. They also are very focused on in this music video –there are only little parts when background dancers/people are viewed in the music video and only have a certain time in the music video. This shows that the artists have a very strong connection with the music and the listeners and their fans. It is important for the the artist to appear in the video because… it represents them as a person and it shows the audience what they are going to be watching for the rest of the video.
When the song carrys on whole way through:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GADx4Hy-Gg this song for You Make Me – Aviici. This is a very good example because it has the song the whole way through the music video this makes the music video and the song link really well together and they have a good connection together and this is showed really well in the music video they link really well together and have a great connection and the music laying the whole way through makes the music video more interesting to watch and get involved in. Give another example of this technique. Then explain why this technique is used.
Artists normally lip sing in a music video:
In Pink’s song ‘Just Give Me A reason’ she lip-synchs the whole way through her music video music this is how they make a good music video. It creates an image that they are actually singing the song in the video – which shows how they are as a artist. This helps to show who the actual artist is. Another person who does this is Rihanna in a lot of her music videos this gives across that a lot of artists do this in their music video’s which shows their identities and has a good clear idea about them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpQFFLBMEPI – and the other video for my evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWA2pjMjpBs It is important for the artist to lip-sync in the video because… they have a lot of different ideas and It is important because people can then understand what they are saying and understand the singing side of it.

The artist will perform throughout the video, either dancing, playing instruments or gesturing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGyEd0aKWZE In this video there are multiple clips throughout the video that Ellie Goulding is performing and singing the song. This shows that the fact that the singer can actually perform live which massively helps their artist analysis and helps them in future reference. Give another example of someone dancing or a band playing in the video clip and explain why it is important. In Katy Perrys Song/Music Video: ROAR. She is performing throughout the video because she is expressing her feelings through this music video and has a lot of different ideas in her music and expresses them through her performance and singing.

The video will usually have 3 or more different locations, which may change with each           verse/chorus
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg59q4puhmg
In this videos there are multiple locations that the video is shot in, in this video Avril Levinge uses a lot of different locations in this video because she’s showing her emotions towards someone and wants to tell them how she feels towards them and she does this by using different locations. Explain exact6ly what the locations are. Give another video as an example. Explain that location changes are important because they stop ‘viewer fatigue’. (A fancy way of saying the viewer doesn’t get bored.)    The different locations in this video are good because it shows that the viewers aren’t going to get bored of looking at the same thing throughout the whole music video this is good because they are going to keep getting a lot of viewers which is good for the artist and will keep up a good reputation for them and will keep uping there views.

The costumes will match the locations and will often change when they change.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMxX-QOV9tI – This video of Jessie J shows this a lot   because it has a different outfit change for a lot of the different camera shots – and different locations in the music video this helps out the musician because it shows their identity and shows what they are interested in and what they want to look like for it. Give another example of costume changes. Explain how the costumes will represent the artist in a certain way which is important ot their marketing.  Costumes are very much so linked in with the style of the song and the music video which is important because it then expresses the feeling off the artist and what they are singing about in the music video and how they are going to feel towards the singing and the performing.

There will usually be sections of the video that are filmed in a studio, most often the performance parts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV2ssT8lzj8
In this video Lil Wayne and Eminem appear in a scene with a black background and smoke on the floor, this would have been a purpose built set for the music video, which gives a professional appearance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KII1ruAfvsg Take That had parts of this video filmed in a purpose built recording studio. Explain why studios are often used.studios are often used because they create a good effect on certain music videos – I think it is effective when artists are performing in studios because it makes a good effect and has a lot of different ideas that can be used with the music video and make the video different from the othr music video. The ones we use have a different music video because

The video will usually contain some kind of narrative, often intercut with performance shots.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsxSxF3JKeU this music video ‘Who’s Laughing Now’ – is a music video sung and performed by Jessie J – this has a story line about Jessie singing about how she got bullied at school and now that she’s famous, all the bullies from school want to be her friend and she’s saying how she’s the one laughing now, because everyone told her that she would never make it. They always bullied her; this kind of music video is excellent because it shows emotion a lot more. Give another example of a narrative video ad explain why narratives are used. Another example of a narrative video is: Story of My Life- One Direction.. this is a narrative because they are showing you their life throughout pictures in the music video(whilst singing about it) this is very effective because they are showing their emotions through song and showing you their life through pictures. People and artists do this because they connect more with their viewers. The viewers have a different persepective of the image. the image of this object

The video will contain a range of camera movements to create a dynamic look (energy) most often tracks, cranes and whip pans.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbtPXFlZlHg Jason Derulo’s music video has a lot of good detail and good camera movements – this is because he links his dance moves in with his singing movement and has a great deal of different ideas that he expresses in his dancing and he also links this together with his music and creates a lot of different ideas about the music video and has a good idea about the emotion towards the camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys7-6_t7OEQ beauty and a beat contain hand held camera movement from the singer as he moves creating a home-made video feel. This differs from most music videos and gives an original look to the video.

The video will use mostly close ups for the lip-synch, mid/long shots for performance and extreme close ups for cutaways.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_1aF54DO60 Lana Del Rey
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHp2KgyQUFk Beyonce
the shot distances it goes close up when they are singing especially when the song is going to be emotional this gives off amazing feel and makes you really feel how the singer is feeling and how they are feeling whilst they are singing the song and have a amazing idea about the song and what it is about – the music depends on the person as well because it has loads of different ideas about different camera shots in the music video.
The video may often use high angles to create a vulnerable look, or low angles to create a dominant or powerful look.

There will be a wide range of different shot types/angles in each location to allow for dynamic and non-repetitive editing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZLUa8JUR18 Lil Wayne
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnVUHWCynig Beyonce
both if these videos use multiple camera shots and angles and progress through the video, this stops the editing from being repetitive the camera shots have various different ideas for the many different camera shots, and they have different locations for each camera shot and this is shown by the emotion and different camera shots that are involved in the music video, both of these music videos above are a great example about different shot types and angles.

Positives/negatives about filming here: one of the positives about filming here is that it is affective because it has a good effect on the play and makes the play look realistic and has a good idea about it. The negative points about filming here is because of the weather, the park isn’t the best place to be when the weather is raining because of the ground being dirty and muddy and this can cause peoples clothes and shoes to become a mess and could change our days of filming because it can be too wet or muddy to film and this means that it cannot happen. The filming involves a lot of detail.

Filming For Shakespeare

We started to film Titus Andronicus, the filming went quite well because we did get a lot filmed, although some of it was had to be done over a few times and had to be created and be done differently because of the different ideas that people had. The choices we made weren't all used but we wanted to try different ideas and other peoples ideas so we had to help other people with their ideas and choose what different things we had to do for the filming. The filming also came to a sudden end when he had to stop the filming because the time of it had not a lot and we needed more time to film the play because we had a lot more ready to film.

The filming wasn't as successful because we didn't get as much filmed as we wanted because of the timing, we got a lot filmed and we only have two scenes left to film in our next session, this is because we have loads of different kinds of ideas about the different scenes.

The filming is different because it has a lot of different ideas, the ideas that we have had different ideas about the options that have had been in lesson time. The different lesson time we had was good because we had a better idea each lesson on what we should do in the next scene and how it should be filmed for the next episode and how the scenes and the films should be made because they have lots of different ideas about the next different idea about the play.

The different sections in the play have a alot of different ideas about the play and have a great idea about the section of the musical and they will have a different idea about the area we will be filming in. The different options we may have are: Box set ideas are better than no ideas because they may have another idea about the options in the music video and how they may be involved in the music video - our first filming was good because it had different ideas about the filming.

Titus Andronicus Research

Titus Andronicus is known to be one of William Shakespeare's most famous and unique productions he has ever written.

Overview of the play:
http://www.rsc.org.uk/whats-on/titus-andronicus/synopsis.aspx
I have got this synopsis from the website^
The brothers Saturninus and Bassianus are in contention for the Roman emperor ship.
Titus Andronicus, Rome's most honored general, returns from wars against the Goths with their queen, Tamora, her sons and her lover, Aaron the Moor, as captives. Her eldest son is sacrificed by Titus; she vows revenge. Revenge is the biggest part of the play and explains a lot about the play and why certain things have happened. The revenge happened well and they made a good effort to do the revenge.
Revenge
Manipulated by Aaron, Tamora's sons, Chiron and Demetrius, avenge their mother by raping and mutilating Lavinia, and killing Bassianus. Aaron falsely implicates two of Titus's sons in this murder.
In his turn Titus vows revenge and sends his surviving son Lucius to the Goths to raise an army. Titus achieves his revenge by killing Tamora's sons and serving them up to her at a banquet, and then killing her.
He himself is killed by Saturninus and his death avenged by Lucius, who is made emperor.

Some of the characteristics of this play:
It's a very violent and dark play this is because their is a lot of killings. (14 in total) - during the play 14 get killed. 21 sons get killed before the play has even started. This shows that its a very gruesome play and has a lot of violence showing in this. There is a lot of killings in this because of simple things such as: Revenge. This is a main subject in Titus Andronicus and has a lot of detail the of the play and has a great storyline. The killings show that they are creative and disturbing for the viewers but good ways that they have used. It is set in the 16th century in Rome. All the deaths have happened because of revenge and conflict against other people in the play. Titus wants revenge of the queen of the goths because 21 of his sons died in the war. So he kills her 2 sons and then bakes them in a pie and feeds them to her.

Magazine Cover

I used this photograph as my cover of the 'Inside Gossip' magazine - I used it because I think its a good photograph to use for the cover of the magazine.
My main story for the magazine is the story that is about: One Direction talking about their 2013 Take Me Home Tour.
